SecondEcho Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 | Last Updated: November 2025

SecondEcho is a personal memory platform that records voice, text, photos, and video. The content you share is personal, so this policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using SecondEcho, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Content you create

We collect the stories and memories you record through voice, text, photos, and video. This includes transcriptions, metadata, and the files you upload or capture.

1.2 Account information

We collect your name, email address, and authentication details.

1.3 Usage information

We collect information about how often you use SecondEcho, session duration, interactions with features, and related analytics.

1.4 Technical information

We collect IP address, device type, operating system, language settings, timestamps, crash logs, and performance data. We may infer your approximate location from your IP address to maintain security and detect unusual login activity.

1.5 Cookies and similar technologies

SecondEcho uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the service, maintain your session, remember preferences, and analyze usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect functionality.

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 To operate and improve SecondEcho

Your content helps your personal Echo understand your memories and maintain continuity over time.

2.2 To support product development

We use aggregated and anonymized patterns to improve stability, performance, and user experience. We may use de-identified or aggregated data to improve our models, develop new features, and analyze general usage trends. We will not attempt to re-identify de-identified data.

2.3 To provide support

If you contact us, we may access the information you choose to share to resolve your issue.

2.4 To maintain safety and platform integrity

We use automated systems to detect fraud, abuse, misuse, and security risks.

2.5 AI output accuracy

SecondEcho uses generative AI. The responses you receive may be incomplete, inaccurate, or reflect misinterpretations of your content. You should not rely on AI output for factual accuracy, medical guidance, legal decisions, or financial decisions.

3. AI Providers and Data Handling

SecondEcho sends your voice, text, photos, and video to third party AI providers including OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic so they can generate responses and perform the technical functions that make SecondEcho work. These companies process your content under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control their internal data practices, retention rules, or model behavior.

By using SecondEcho, you understand that:

  • your content may be temporarily stored, logged, or embedded by these providers
  • we cannot delete data that these providers retain
  • we cannot guarantee how long they keep your data or how they secure it
  • we do not accept liability for actions, omissions, or breaches by these services

For this reason, you should not share medical, financial, or other highly sensitive information in SecondEcho. Only include information you are comfortable submitting to independent third party AI systems.

SecondEcho does not sell your personal data or share it for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Photos and Video

Photos and video you upload or capture in SecondEcho are used only to support your personal Echo and the memory features you choose to use.

You can delete photos and video only by deleting your entire account.

5. Storing and Protecting Your Data

SecondEcho retains your data until you delete your account. When you request deletion, we permanently remove your data from our active systems within a reasonable period. Backup removal may take up to 30 days.

We use encryption in transit and at rest, and we limit internal access to personnel who require it to operate and maintain the platform. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

5.1 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SecondEcho and Reimagine AI Inc. are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including those arising from the actions or data practices of independent third party AI providers. SecondEcho is not responsible for the accuracy, tone, or behavior of AI-generated output.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your region, you may have rights under PIPEDA, Law 25, GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws. These may include access, correction, portability, deletion, and withdrawal of consent.

To protect your data, we may need to verify your identity before processing access or deletion requests. If we cannot verify your request, we may be unable to complete it.

You can delete your account at any time, which removes your data from our systems. This does not affect data retained by independent third party AI providers.

7. Sensitive Information Warning

SecondEcho is not designed for medical, legal, or financial information. You should not submit protected health information, financial account details, passwords, or other regulated data or highly sensitive information. Sharing such information increases your personal risk and cannot be removed from third party AI systems outside our control.

8. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in Canada, the United States or other jurisdictions. These locations may have different data protection laws than your home region. By using SecondEcho, you consent to these transfers since they are required for the platform to function.

9. Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing event, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor organization as part of that transaction. Any such transfer will remain subject to this Privacy Policy.
